Peer Review

Even though half of the class didn't get to present their presentations, but for the students that did present theirs.......Here is what I have to say!!

Pros
Cons
The Power Points were not just thrown together
Some of them where quite boring to sit through,
The Students were not rushing through their time.
The topics where simple and generic
The information on the slides where not in paragraphs
Some students where monotone during their presentations
Everything was easy to follow along.
The slides didn't draw my attention like it should have.

I am not bashing any student on their presentations, i understand the nervousness, the panic the night before the due date, and not having a well formed topic quite yet. these are things that just stood out to me. luckily we have another chance to fix our mistakes on them. Also I am not saying that my presentation is better than anyone's in the class. To be honest my prezi could use some more information on my key points and the colors could be changed.

I didn't make a power point but if i did the intro slide would look like this:

Here's an update on my research project!

To be honest I haven't really started my research in depth. I have been digging through and  finding sources to give supporting ideas to my topic. I do not have a thesis statement. So far I have my research question which is, "What has influenced Religion and Folklore in Guadeloupe?" Right now I am trying to figure out my outline for my paper.

  • How I see it i am going to start the introduction with a brief  history of the island like, "Was there any ancient civilization?" If there was, "Who are they?" & "Was there a downfall in their community?" "Are there any surviving tribes or offspring of the civilization?" "Did they have a religion or any surviving literature?"
  • Then I will find supporting subtopics to give more depth for the questions.
  • Each subtopics will have at least three or four paragraphs to support the idea.
This is what I have so far for my paper. I am working on more questions and details, which will be on my official outline. Next post will be up next week wish me luck and say a prayer for me that i can get this project up and going?
